JP Safeguarding is committed to promoting the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and adults at risk. Although we do not provide direct care or regulated activity, safeguarding is central to the consultancy, and advisory services we deliver.
This policy outlines our approach to safeguarding and the standards we uphold in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023) and Keeping Children Safe in Education (2024).
Principles
We are committed to:
• Promoting a culture of vigilance and professional curiosity
• Supporting organisations to meet statutory safeguarding duties
• Responding appropriately to concerns raised during consultancy or safeguarding supervision (non-clinical)
• Maintaining professional boundaries
• Acting in the best interests of children and vulnerable adults
Scope
This policy applies to:
• Consultancy work
• Online and in person safeguarding supervision (non-clinical)
• Handling of safeguarding related information
Responding to Concerns
If a safeguarding concern is disclosed:
1. We listen without judgement
2. We do not promise confidentiality
3. We advise the individual to follow their organisation’s safeguarding procedures
4. If someone is at immediate risk, we contact emergency services
5. We may contact the relevant Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) if appropriate
We do not conduct investigations — this remains the responsibility of the commissioning organisation.

Information Sharing
Safeguarding information will be:
• Treated sensitively
• Stored securely
• Shared only when necessary to protect a child or vulnerable adult
